Ultimate Staffing is seeking New Electrical Engineering Students or Graduates / entry-level Test Engineers to join our client’s team in Plano, TX. This temp-to-hire opportunity is ideal for candidates looking to launch or grow a career in hardware engineering while supporting hands‑on test engineering initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
The Test Engineer I will support new product introduction and manufacturing operations through the development, implementation, and optimization of test solutions for electronic products. This role will help design and maintain test programs, develop test fixtures and jigs , validate engineering changes , troubleshoot product issues, and support quality t hroughout development and production.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain test fixtures, test jigs, and automated test programs for electronic products.
- Evaluate, validate, and verify engineering design changes and manufacturing process modifications.
- Plan, assess, validate, and track Design for Testability (DFT) requirements for new product introductions.
- Analyze issues identified during prototype builds, pilot runs, and mass production, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Support the installation, qualification, and maintenance of engineering and production test equipment, including burn-in systems.
- Verify and approve test specifications, test procedures, and test engineering requirements.
- Execute product verification activities and prepare comprehensive test plans, test reports, and validation documentation.
- Review and confirm printed wiring board (PWB) test points to ensure adequate test coverage.
- Analyze customer RFQs and develop appropriate test strategies and methodologies for new products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management to improve product performance and manufacturability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field; OR
- Associate degree in Electronics or a related discipline with equivalent relevant work experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Test Engineering or related role.
- Experience developing test programs and validating test specifications and test engineering requirements.
- Strong understanding of electronic circuits, digital circuitry, and electronic test equipment.
- Proficiency with circuit analysis, troubleshooting, and bench-level test equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, layouts, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience preparing technical documentation, test plans, and engineering reports.
- Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) and manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with Design for Testability (DFT) principles and production test methodologies.
- Knowledge of automated test systems, fixture development, and burn-in processes.
- Experience troubleshooting products throughout prototype, pilot, and production phases.
