JOB SUMMARY

As a Test Engineer I at Marki Microwave you will be part of a highly skilled team developing the next generation of Marki best-in-class RF products. You will be responsible for developing test stations, software, and solutions for the Design, NPI, and Manufacturing teams. The position also helps improve manual RF testing on the bench and assists in the operation and setup of the automated IC handler.


This role is ideal for someone who wants to use their software skills to interact with hardware and test equipment. This unique opportunity allows the candidate to help form the future testing methods of a fast-growing RF components company.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Collaborate with Product Engineers, Design Engineers, and Manufacturing to create test solutions used in New Product Introduction and Manufacturing.

  • Develop software that controls equipment, collects data, and guides Engineers and Operators to characterize components.

  • Research and propose new test solutions and equipment to characterize RF components.

  • Understand the theory behind RF/Microwave testing and know how to run component level tests including but not limited to S-parameters, Noise Figure/Temperature, Conversion Loss, Power Compression, Harmonic Generation, Intermodulation Distortion, Spur Generation, and Transient Response Time.

  • Assist in collection of data for all datasheet parameters as well as specific customer requested measurements covering DC to >170 GHz.

  • Troubleshoot test and measurement issues including equipment setup, calibration and test conditions to confirm that testing is performed accurately. Creatively solve characterization problems with systematic solutions.

  • Document and release developed test stations and solutions.

  • Manage priorities and communicate regularly with manager on progress and challenges. Promote an ethics-based business culture in the organization.

  • Develop and manage databases and Analysis/Utility tools.

  • Use software to control manufacturing equipment and automate manufacturing processes.


REQUIREMENTS


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience in Product Development, Test Development, New Product Introduction (prototype to volume ramp-up) or Manufacturing Engineering

  • Hands on experience working with RF and Electronic Test Equipment (Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator, Power Meter, Power Supplies, Oscilloscope, Multimeter, etc.) to characterize high frequency devices and modules desired.


TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES


  • Experience using software to control hardware.

  • Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Able to organize and manage multiple, simultaneous projects and priorities; generate and analyze data quickly and efficiently to meet time-to-market needs.

  • Experience in software programming such as C, Python, Matlab, and other common measurement automation and analysis tools.

  • Commitment to work with a hands-on approach in a team atmosphere.

  • Experience with controlling automated RF & Microwave test equipment using SCPI protocol.

  • Knowledge of statistical analysis (SPC, GR&R, Cp/Cpk, correlation analysis)
