Position: Test Engineer

Office / Station: Test

General Function:

A Test Engineer sets out QA processes for the team to follow and strives to improve them. S/he masters the technical skills necessary for the job. S/he is a self-learner, invests time in understanding and documenting the test tasks/features, and has the ability to mentor juniors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Review product, feature, design specifications
2. Define stories, create test plan
3. Develop manual test cases
4. Strive to automate wherever possible
5. Help stakeholders in their estimation
6. Participate in sprint plannings, etc.
7. Perform feature, regression, release testing
8. Write clear and concise bug reports and help developers to narrow down issues
9. Proactively work towards improving product and processes
10. Coordinate with stakeholders and developers to meet key dates, project milestones, and progress reports.

Working Relationships:

Directly reports to the Lead Test Engineer

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Information Technology / Computer Science / Engineering or other related courses
2. Ability to work and adapt to different programming languages
3. Having any of the following is an advantage:
1. Having automation or programming experience
2. Comfortable in at least two of the technologies or similar tools:
1. Frameworks: Appium, Cucumber/Selenium, Robot Framework, PyTest, Any desktop automation framework, Any API/Web Service Automation Framework
2. Programming/Scripting Languages: Python, Java, PowerShell, Bash, and Batch scripting
3. Knowledge and working experience in Software QA processes and methodologies.
4. Knowledge and/or experience in testing at least one of desktop or mobile app
5. Experience in working in any software development life cycle or Agile software development methodologies
6. Knowledge and/or experience in operating systems such as Windows, MacOS, and Linux
7. Knowledge and/or experience with virtualization technologies such as Docker, VMWare, VirtualBox, and Google Cloud Virtual Machines
