As we expand our capabilities, we are seeking a dedicated Software Tester to join our team. This is a full-time, remote position available to candidates throughout the United States, offering flexible working hours between 9-5pm or 10-6pm. QATPro is open to both contract and regular employment arrangements, focusing on finding the right fit for our team and the successful candidate.

Your Role:

As a Software Test Engineer at QATPro, you will play a crucial role in our software development lifecycle, ensuring that all our software products meet the highest standards of quality before they reach our clients. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing test plans to identify software problems and their causes. Working closely with our development team, you will provide feedback and recommendations to improve product quality and participate in the development process to ensure the effectiveness of our testing strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute software test plans, cases, and scripts to uncover, identify, and document software problems and their causes.
• Collaborate with software developers to identify and resolve defects and bugs.
• Track and report testing activities, including testing results, test case coverage, required resources, defects discovered, and their status.
• Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
• Evaluate product code according to specifications.
• Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
• Maintain updated knowledge of industry trends and advancements in software testing.

Technical Requirements:

• Proficient in software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
• Familiarity with automated testing tools is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of software QA metrics, including defect densities and open defect counts.
• Ability to document thoroughly and track bugs.
• Proficient in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing.
• Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python is advantageous.

Experience:

• 2+ years of experience in software testing or a similar role.
• Demonstrated experience in software QA testing, methodologies, and frameworks.
• Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus.
