FINEOS are looking for test engineers who demonstrate a keen interest and knowledge of software testing practices and process (both manual and automated) along with the determination to take a solution to completion, while maintaining a focus on delivering quality and value to the customer. T he successful candidate must have an aptitude for considering the bigger picture, a desire to understand the business context and domain of the FINEOS products and customer implementations.
As a Test Engineer you will join our highly skilled Professional Services team, working on FINEOS AdminSuite implementation projects. As part of a project team, working in conjunction with our customer’s you will verify customer specific extensions and configuration applied to our core FINEOS AdminSuite products. Verify web service integrations and solution upgrades. You will be responsible for the design and execution of tests (manual and automated) as well as providing test and solution consultancy support to our customers and mentoring of more junior testers.
All of our test engineers work closely and collaborate with other testers, developers, business and technical consultants along with other cross functional team members, adhering to our standards and processes. Our implementation projects generally follow the principles of Agile methodologies, working primarily as part of either a FINEOS or a Customers implementation scrum team
Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.)
- Proactively work as part of an Agile Scrum Team, or project test team.
- Test case design based on Solution requirements, Epics, Feature and User Story acceptance criteria.
- Test script creation and execution, based on industry best practises and experience, primarily covering UI, Workflow, Solution Integration, Functional, maintenance and Regression testing.
- Develop, execute and maintain automated test scripts using Java Selenium WebDriver/Framework and Selenium IDE
- Provide estimates for test tasks and activities
- Test & Defect Reporting based on industry best practice
- Liaise with the Project Management and Scrum Masters to ensure adherence to quality during the development and testing process
- Liaise with Client Test Leads & Client Test Team as required
- Provide Status Updates
- Troubleshoot and analyse issues and suggest solutions/workarounds
- Provide mentoring and guidance to other team members
- Identify and implement improvements that enhance the Test Process and improve overall Quality Assurance practices
- Provide business consultancy to customers on product and solution capabilities.
- Conduct show and tell demos of solution features and verification activities
- Support preparation of solution business configuration when required.
- Promote and live the FINEOS values and increase positive relations with team, customers, prospects and partners.
- Interacting with internal and external customers of the organisation, to clarify requirements, design and develop solutions.
- Working effectively with Test Engineering Team to resolve open issues in an efficient manner.
Education and/or Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Test Engineer working preferably within web based applications and integrations.
- Insurance Business experience and knowledge a distinct advantage
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Practical knowledge of Relational databases (e.g. Oracle, DB2 or SQL Server) and an ability to write and run basic SQL queries as part of test verification
- Experience of working a cross functional/cross skilled agile team environment, a distinct advantage
- Experience of providing estimates for test tasks and activities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with capability of working directly with Client teams
- Ability to multi task, use own initiative and work to tight deadlines
- Flexibility and willingness to travel to client sites when necessary
- A relevant third level qualification (with coding/scripting modules an advantage).
- Experience of working in a vendor environment with appreciation of the customer deliverablesan advantage
Technical Skills
- Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, Success Factors, etc.
- Automated software testing design and script writing experience, preferably in an end user testing of enterprise thin client software applications.
- Experience using Java Selenium WebDriver and SoapUI a distinct advantage.
- Knowledge of automated testing tools like Junit, TestNG, Cucumber, Watir, Appium, JMeter, a distinct advantage.
- Experience with Java or a scripting language, a distinct advantage.
Language Skills
- Ability tospeaktheEnglish languageproficiently, both verbally and in writing is essential for this position
Travel Requirements
This position does not require travel on a regular basis. However there may be rare instances of domestic or international travel due to project/ client requirements.
