Job summary

Qorvo, Inc. in Greensboro, NC, is seeking an RF Test Engineer to design and debug final test solutions for WiFi FEMs, and to generate/troubleshoot test software on production ATE. You will work with RF devices, EVM, ACPR, and RF fundamentals, using C++ and C# to develop hardware/software applications.

The role requires strong RF knowledge and hands-on testing experience with ATE equipment. On-site work in Greensboro is expected, with collaborative cross-functional support across product

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with an RF focus, or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with RF focus.
• 2 years RF development experience including RF devices, modulation, EVM and ACPR, RF fundamentals.
• Experience generating/troubleshooting hardware/software applications with C++ and C#.
• Familiarity with RF components (amplifiers, mixers, attenuators, filters, couplers, isolators, VCOs, synthesizers, oscillators).

Responsibilities

• Correlates ATE results to lab bench results and reviews product/test specs.

DUTIES

• Designs and debugs final test solution for semiconductor products primarily WiFi FEMs.
• Generates/troubleshoots test software on production ATE (e.g. Cohu, NI).
• This specifically involves working with RF semiconductor devices (chips), RF test concepts like modulation, power servo, Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) and Adjacent Channel Power Ratio (ACPR) and circuits including RF fundamentals.
• Generating/troubleshooting hardware/software applications, with strong knowledge and skill in programing languages (C++ and C#).
• Measurement techniques of all the RF parameters (Gain, EVM, SEM, P1dB, & Switching Speed).
• Familiarity with the RF components commonly used (RF amplifiers, mixers, attenuators, filters, couplers, isolators, VCOs, Synthesizers, Oscillators).
• Additionally, responsibilities include correlating ATE results to lab bench results; reviewing product test specifications (datasheet) and test equipment specifications, and providing test software and hardware support to prototype test work centers as needed to meet customer sampling requirements while complying with product lifecycle tools.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on RF
• 2 years of experience to include RF development to involve: (1) experience with RF semiconductor devices (chips), RF test concepts like modulation, power servo, Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) and Adjacent Channel Power Ratio (ACPR) and circuits including RF fundamentals
• (2) generating/troubleshooting hardware/software applications, with strong knowledge and skill in programing languages (C++ and C#)
• (3) measurement techniques of all the RF parameters (Gain, EVM, SEM, P1dB, & Switching Speed)
• (4) familiarity with the RF components commonly used (RF amplifiers, mixers, attenuators, filters, couplers, isolators, VCOs, Synthesizers, Oscillators)

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS

• In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, employer will accept a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on RF
• 1 year of experience or 6 graduate credit hours to include RF development knowledge to involve experienceor knowledge of (1) RF semiconductor devices (chips), RF test concepts like modulation, power servo, Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) and Adjacent Channel Power Ratio (ACPR) and circuits including RF fundamentals
• (2) generating/troubleshooting hardware/software applications, with strong knowledge and skill in programing languages (C++ and C#)
• (3) measurement techniques of all the RF parameters (Gain, EVM, SEM, P1dB, & Switching Speed)
