Job summary

Qorvo, Inc. in San Jose, CA is seeking a Sr. RF Engineering Technician to support the Test Engineering Group.

The role conducts DC to mmWave RF testing, contributes to Design Validation Testing, and calibrates test stations following Qorvo standards. You will interact with engineers and assist in training teammates. The position requires 8+ years in RF testing, familiarity with RF lab setups, and strong documentation and communication skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct DC and RF testing from DC to mmWave frequencies in an RF lab environment.

• Perform limited test setup troubleshooting and assemble fixtures/wire harnesses.
• Interact with test development engineers to support test setup improvements.
• Report test progress to manager and customers.

We are recruiting an Sr. RF Engineering Technician to join Qorvo’s Infrastructure and Defense Products (IDP). The incumbent will provide support to the Test Engineering Group to conduct Design Validation Testing.This position will be based in San Jose, CA.

Key Roles and responsibilities:

• Conduct DC and RF testing from DC to mmWave frequencies in an RF lab environment
• Contribute to Design Validation Testing process
• Setup and calibrate [S] parameters and power test stations following Qorvo standards
• Perform limited test setup troubleshooting, assemble fixtures wire harnesses
• Interact with test development engineers to support test setup improvement when applicable
• Report test progress to manager and customers
• Support training sessions and provide guidance to less experienced team members

Technical Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in RF component testing required
• Familiar with RF testing
• Capable of multi-tasking in a consistently evolving environment
• Proficient with test equipment including PXI systems, RF sources, pulse generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers, noise figure analyzers, power meters, power supplies, and digital multi-meters
• Knowledgeable in RF testing includes S-parameters, noise figure, power, pulsed power, high power RF, TOI, harmonics, ACP, Video Bandwidth (VBW), digital pre-distortion (DPD), modulation testing (AM/AM, AM/PM, PAM, etc), and different modulation schemes (LTE/TDD, WCDMA, QAM, etc)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
• Operate as a team player with a positive attitude

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the Company.

Competitive hourly pay commensurate with experience: $36 - $47, relevant for the California Bay Area (subject to change dependent on physical location)

Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Qorvo reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as external competitiveness and internal comparability.
