Job summary

AeroVect is seeking Autonomous Vehicle Operators to join our Atlanta-based team. You will operate autonomous airport tractors at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport as they move live cargo across the airfield, supervising the vehicles to improve performance and safety.

You will work side-by-side with our engineering team, providing crucial feedback on vehicle performance and ensuring safe vehicle behavior. The role demands attention to detail and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Experience operating specialty vehicles in complex environments.
• Valid US Class C driver's license with clean record and 3+ years driving.
• Prior lead or supervisor responsibilities.
• Reliable, detail-oriented with strong communication.
• Able to pass background checks for airport access.

Responsibilities

• Operate AeroVect's autonomous vehicles at ATL as assigned.
• Log vehicle behavior, performance, observations, and metrics.
• Supervise autonomous baggage tugs and manually move them as needed.
• Conduct pre- and post-shift inspections of vehicles and hardware.
• Collaborate with engineering to trial new features and collect feedback.
• Interface with handlers during cargo/load operations.
• Contribute to safety improvements and handling of complex driving scenarios.

We are looking for Autonomous Vehicle Operators to join AeroVect’s Atlanta-based team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating our autonomous airport tractors at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport as they move live cargo across the airfield. Your supervision of the vehicles will improve the performance and safety of our technology.

You will work side-by-side with our engineering team, providing crucial feedback on vehicle performance and ensuring safe vehicle behavior. As part of the AeroVect team, you’ll have the chance to get hands-on with Autonomous vehicles in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

You Will

• Operate AeroVect's autonomous vehicles at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport

• Log vehicle behavior, performance, observations, and key metrics

• Supervise autonomous baggage tugs while in operation, and manually drive them to and from their storage depot

• Conduct pre-shift and post-shift inspections of the vehicles and their hardware systems

• Work with the engineering team to trial and test new vehicle features

• Interface with those interacting with the vehicle on the route, as cargo and baggage are loaded for the vehicle to transport

• Lend your expertise to the improvement of vehicle performance and handling of complex driving scenarios

You Have

• Experience handling specialty vehicle types in complex environments

• A valid US Class C Driver's License, with 3+ years of driving experience with a clean driving record

• Experience in a lead or sole-supervisor role, demonstrating superior responsibility

• Being a reliable, detailed-oriented individual with strong communication skills

• Alertness and good driving instinct to monitor autonomous vehicle performance

• Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends

• Must be able to pass federal background checks and receive and maintain issuance of an airport security badge

We Prefer

• Post Secondary Degree

• Experience operating in Airside Environments

• Experience operating an autonomous vehicle, or overseeing operations of autonomous machinery

• Experience with safety-critical infrastructure

• Basic computer programming skills. ROS experience is a plus.

• Interest in autonomous driving and aviation

• Test driving experience

• Familiarity with the layout and cargo operations of ATL
