Job summary

AeroVect is seeking an Autonomous Vehicle Operator to join our Atlanta-based team to operate autonomous airport tractors at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and manage live cargo movements on the airfield.

You will work alongside the engineering team to provide crucial feedback on vehicle performance, safety, and vehicle behavior, ensuring safe operation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience handling specialty vehicle types in complex environments.
• Valid US Class C Driver's License with 3+ years of driving.
• Experience in a lead or sole-supervisor role.
• Reliable, detailed-oriented with strong communication.
• Alertness to monitor autonomous vehicle performance.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends.
• Pass federal background checks and obtain an airport security badge.

Responsibilities

• Operate AeroVect's autonomous vehicles at ATL.
• Log vehicle behavior, performance, observations, metrics.
• Supervise autonomous baggage tugs and drive them to storage depot.
• Conduct pre/post-shift inspections.
• Work with engineering to trial new features.
• Interface with on-route personnel during cargo loading.
• Contribute to improving vehicle performance in complex scenarios.

We are looking for Autonomous Vehicle Operators to join AeroVect’s Atlanta-based team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating our autonomous airport tractors at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport as they move live cargo across the airfield. Your supervision of the vehicles will improve the performance and safety of our technology.

You will work side-by-side with our engineering team, providing crucial feedback on vehicle performance and ensuring safe vehicle behavior. As part of the AeroVect team, you’ll have the chance to get hands-on with Autonomous vehicles in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

You Will

• Operate AeroVect's autonomous vehicles at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport
• Log vehicle behavior, performance, observations, and key metrics
• Supervise autonomous baggage tugs while in operation, and manually drive them to and from their storage depot
• Conduct pre-shift and post-shift inspections of the vehicles and their hardware systems
• Work with the engineering team to trial and test new vehicle features
• Interface with those interacting with the vehicle on the route, as cargo and baggage are loaded for the vehicle to transport
• Lend your expertise to the improvement of vehicle performance and handling of complex driving scenarios

You Have

• Experience handling specialty vehicle types in complex environments
• A valid US Class C Driver's License, with 3+ years of driving experience with a clean driving record
• Experience in a lead or sole-supervisor role, demonstrating superior responsibility
• Being a reliable, detailed-oriented individual with strong communication skills
• Alertness and good driving instinct to monitor autonomous vehicle performance
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends
• Must be able to pass federal background checks and receive and maintain issuance of an airport security badge

We Prefer

• Post Secondary Degree
• Experience operating in Airside Environments
• Experience operating an autonomous vehicle, or overseeing operations of autonomous machinery
• Experience with safety-critical infrastructure
• Basic computer programming skills. ROS experience is a plus.
• Interest in autonomous driving and aviation
• Test driving experience
• Familiarity with the layout and cargo operations of ATL
