Job summary

American Institutes for Research seeks a Test Development Assistant to support the NAEP assessment project and related partnerships. The role offers remote work within the United States and requires participation in meetings across U.S. time zones.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
Familiarity with digital K-12 assessment, assessment frameworks, and U.S. content standards.
Content knowledge in reading or ELA, science, or math including U.S. standards and frameworks.
Experience with document review and applying technical standards.
One or two years of teaching experience.
Experience with operational assessments is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Support all stages of assessment development, including collecting, analyzing, and reviewing items, frameworks, and reporting.
Collect, collate, and analyze comments on assessment materials from team members and clients.
Perform user experience reviews of assessment platforms and QC reviews of content integration.
Observe operational assessment activities including scoring and trainings (virtual and in-person).
Develop presentations and concise written summaries for technical and non-technical audiences.
Manage outreach, records, and follow-up for partnerships and client engagements.
