Tundra Technical Solutions is seeking a Test Automation Lead to own the test strategy and drive automation across UI and API tests using Playwright. You will lead onshore/offshore QA teams and coordinate with product owners and developers in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires extensive experience in software testing, strong leadership, and hands-on Playwright expertise, with a contract engagement in Los Angeles and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifikationen

• 10 years of experience in software testing and quality engineering.
• 3–5 years of Web application testing experience.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright; Selenium or similar frameworks a plus.
• Proficient in test automation frameworks and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines.

• Own and drive the overall test strategy, planning, and execution across multiple releases.
• Define testing scope, approach, and quality metrics.
• Ensure adherence to QA standards, best practices, and governance.
• Lead and contribute to test automation framework design and implementation.
• Drive automation coverage for UI, API, and regression testing.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Oversee functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing.
• Review test cases, automation scripts, and test artifacts for quality and completeness.
• Manage defect triage, prioritization, root cause analysis, and closure.
• Lead, mentor, and manage onshore/offshore QA teams.
• Coordinate with Product Owners, Developers, Scrum Masters, and other Test Leads.
• Provide daily/weekly status reporting dashboards and test closure reports.
• Identify gaps in test processes and drive continuous improvement.

Required Skills:

10 years of experience in software testing quality engineering

Minimum 35 years in a Test Lead QA Lead role

3-5 years of Web application testing experience

Strong experience in test automation frameworks

Playwright highly preferred

Experience with API testing tools Postman REST clients

Test management and defect tracking tools JIRA Azure DevOps etc

Database testing and SQL querying skills

Understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies

Soft Skills:

Strong leadership and people management skills

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

Analytical detail oriented and problem solving mindset

Ability to work in fast paced multi release environments

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $24.27/hour - $37.92/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
