Job summary

Boeing is seeking a Flight Test Conductor for the T-7A program at Edwards AFB, CA. This contract role leads test planning and execution with teams across Flight Operations, Data Systems, and other groups.

The successful candidate will supervise test conduct, develop procedures, review data, publish reports, and mentor junior conductors. This is a contract assignment through a Boeing-approved third party.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience with the principles of flight test or experience directly supporting flight test operations.
• 5+ years of experience planning and conducting system-level lab, ground, or flight testing.
• 100+ hours of control room experience as a Test Conductor.

Responsibilities

• Develops detailed test methods and instrumentation definitions to perform tests within the plan.
• Performs detailed planning and execution of ground and flight tests.
• Reviews test data for accuracy, quality and fidelity prior to customer delivery.
• Publishes and presents test reports documenting results.
• Archives data and reports and trains junior test conductors.

Job description

The Boeing Test & Evaluation organization has an exciting opening for a Flight Test Conductor for T‑7A program located at Edwards AFB, CA. The Test Conductor will lead flight test program planning and execution, which will include many aspects of flight sciences and mission systems.

The successful candidate will lead test conduct through coordination of flight test operations with the various functions and support groups in the organization (Flight Operations; Flight Test Operations; Instrumentation & Data Systems - Test Software & Telemetry, System Design & Development, System Design, Installation Design, and Operations; Fabrication and Assembly).

Position Responsibilities

• Supports the development and verification of test methods
• Develops detailed test procedures, and instrumentation and configuration definition, needed to perform the test and minimize risk within the constraints of the test plan
• Performs detailed planning and execution of aircraft ground and flight test
• Reviews test data, including off-nominal data, for accuracy, quality and/or fidelity prior to delivery to customer
• Prepares and publishes test reports to document test results and satisfy requirements
• Presents test results internally
• Archives data and reports
• Trains/Guides junior test conductors with their career development in flight test

Required Skills

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
• 5+ years of experience with the principles of flight test OR experience directly supporting flight test operations
• 5+ years of experience in planning and conducting system level lab, ground, or flight testing
• 100+ hours of control room experience as a Test Conductor

Preferred Skills

• Level 5: 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5+ years of experience performing tactical aircraft flight testing (planning and/or executing)
• 5+ years of experience directly interfacing with customers and senior program leadership
• 5+ years of experience developing detailed test points from system level specification requirements, test planning, execution and reporting test results

Pay Rate Range

78 - 83 USD hourly
