Job summary

Pearson in Scranton, PA is seeking a regular part-time Test Administrator to support testing operations at 330 Montage Mountain Rd. You will check in candidates, explain the exam process, and proctor exams in a quiet environment.

Starting pay is $17.75 per hour with accrued paid sick time. Hours range from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Monday through Saturday, about 5–15 hours weekly, with potential extra hours in peak season. A high school diploma and MS Office familiarity are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year customer service experience preferred.
  • Experience proctoring or invigilating exams preferred.
  • Must be flexible in work hours and days.
  • Beginner to intermediate MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) skills expected.

Responsibilities

  • Check in candidates, verify ID, and explain the exam process.
  • Proctor/invigilate candidates during testing.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with internal teams.
  • Perform light housekeeping between exams and sanitize keyboards.

Job description

We are now hiring for a regular part-time Test Administrator to join our team based in Scranton, PA (330 Montage Mountain Rd, Scranton PA 18507).

Responsibilities
  • Comply with all testing procedures and strictly adhere to company policies using careful judgment.
  • Check in testing candidates, verify identification, and explain the exam process.
  • Proctor / invigilate candidates while testing.
  • Troubleshoot with internal departments to fix technical issues.
  • Complete light housekeeping duties such as vacuuming the floors and sanitizing keyboards after each candidate has finished their examination.
Schedule Requirements

Our ideal candidate demonstrates teamwork and has the availability to work a variety of shifts any day from Monday through Saturday, between the hours of 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM, with about 0-4 Saturdays per month.

Candidate must be open to flexible scheduling.

This is strictly a part-time position, with an expected workload of 5 to 15 hours per week. Additional hours may be required as business needs dictate, particularly during the summer peak season.

Schedules are available at least 2 weeks in advance.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience proctoring or invigilating exams is highly preferred.
  • Must be flexible in work hours and days.
  • Beginner to intermediate experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time and also escort candidates to and from testing room. Must be able to bend, stoop and lift up to 20 lbs. with reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be comfortable in a quiet testing environment, hear soft voices and see details from a distance.
