Territory Sales RepresentativePOS & Payments
SuperSonic | California | Full-time
Field-based role with daily travel within your assigned territory
SuperSonic helps independent retailers sell more, lose less, and run their businesses from one POS. More than 3,000 independent store owners use our platform for payments, inventory, loyalty, online ordering, and loss prevention, backed by 24/7 U.S.-based support.
We're hiring a Territory Sales Representative to grow SuperSonic's presence in the Los Angeles area. You will sell directly to owners of convenience stores, liquor stores, neighborhood markets, and other independent retailers.
This is a field sales role. Most of your selling time will be spent visiting stores, meeting owners, demonstrating the product, and closing new accounts. You can handle planning and administrative work from home, but this is not a work-from-home inside sales position.
You will own the sales process from first contact through close and stay involved through a successful launch. Our Implementation and Support teams will handle technical deployment and ongoing technical support. Your primary responsibility is to win new business and build a productive territory.
Our sales cycle is transactional, with average annual contract values around $5,000 and opportunities up to $20,000. We need someone who can build trust quickly, understand a store’s problems, and turn a good conversation into a decision.
Build your territory
Plan your weekly routes and visit stores daily. Introduce yourself to owners, find the decision-maker, qualify opportunities, and arrange demos. Generate business through walk-ins, calls, referrals, and local relationships while following up promptly on assigned leads.
You should be comfortable creating your own pipeline rather than relying on a calendar of prebooked appointments.
Run demos and close accounts
Learn how each store operates and what its current system is costing the owner in time, missed sales, or unnecessary work. Run focused in-store demos, explain the value of the right SuperSonic bundle, handle objections, and ask for the business.
Prepare proposals and agreements within approved pricing guidelines and keep a clear next step on every active opportunity.
Help merchants get live
Set accurate expectations, collect the information needed for onboarding, and coordinate with Implementation on installation and activation. Stay in touch with the owner, help with basic product orientation and training when needed, and make sure issues reach the right team.
You are accountable for a complete sales handoff, not for becoming the store’s full-time technician.
Develop relationships that generate more business
Keep your commitments, check in after launch, ask satisfied merchants for introductions, and identify opportunities for additional locations or services.
Build relationships with local business advisers, suppliers, and other people who work with independent retailers. Win through useful advice and follow-through, not promises we cannot deliver.
Manage your pipeline and improve your selling
Keep CRM records current, including store visits, owner conversations, demos, next steps, and expected close dates. Review your territory and results with sales leadership each week.
Participate in coaching and role-plays, apply feedback, and share what you learn about competitors and customer needs. Our coaching approach emphasizes specific examples, practical feedback, and practicing what to do differently.
Existing relationships with independent retailers are a plus.
Professional fluency in Spanish, Arabic, or another language in addition to English is preferred, not required.
A college degree is not required.
You will be measured primarily on new merchant accounts, recurring revenue, and qualified pipeline. We will also track demos held, conversion, follow-through to activation, and the activity needed to support your sales goals.
First 30 days: Learn the product, complete sales training, build a territory plan, start daily field prospecting, and close your first accounts.
By 60 days: Maintain an active pipeline, consistently run demos and close business, and help your first merchants complete onboarding.
By 90 days: Deliver against agreed ramp targets, keep building new pipeline, and develop customer referrals alongside your own prospecting.
