Job Description

The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for consistently exceeding agreed-upon new business production, direct written premium, and loss ratio goals, as well as other KPIs on an annual basis. This is achieved by effectively managing the agents of an assigned market to increase company market share through driving profitable growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver on the business unit’s annual execution plan (growth, profitability, agency engagement, new appointments) for their market under the guidance of a Regional Sales Manager and/or Zone Director.
  2. Position and promote the full suite of NGACC Insurance products into Independent Agency Partners, including multiple auto, homeowners, commercial vehicle, flood, and recreational vehicle products (based on state availability).
  3. Manage product/user integration with industry technology and comparative rating platforms within the market and assigned agencies.
  4. Consult with Independent Agents by leveraging strong knowledge of the independent agency channel, industry competitors, major brokers, and national industry associations to gather market intelligence, promote NGAAC products, and suggest market enhancements.
  5. Develop and maintain the new agency appointment pipeline, supporting National Accounts & Alternative Distribution Initiatives to implement corporate agreements at the local market level.
  6. Collaborate with Product, Pricing, and Operations teams to perform stakeholder and risk analysis on market-related issues.
  7. Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and follow-ups in CRM software.
  8. Continuously evaluate the agency force’s performance, training/skill gaps, and execution against the business plan.
  9. Assist agencies in creating short-term and long-term strategic business plans, reviewing and adjusting as necessary to achieve results.
  10. Serve as a key company liaison within the assigned market to both independent agencies and industry associations, with field-facing responsibilities four days per week to drive key business initiatives.
  11. Handle increasing quote and issuance flow beyond the rate and underwriting trends filed and implemented in the market.
  12. Use production data and reporting to identify trends, capitalize on opportunities, and address agency performance regularly.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of sales management/leadership experience with Personal Lines Carriers and/or in the Financial Services Industry
  • Proven track record of achieving business results through effective internal relationships within sales and across other functions
  • Industry certifications (preferred)
  • Property and Casualty Licenses (preferred)

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role is an individual contributor role.

Compensation

Base Pay Range: $83,000 - $103,800 - $124,600 USD
