This role manages a balanced portfolio of existing account development and new business generation— working directly with electrical distributors, key accounts, system integrators, engineering firms, and end users, while coordinating the selling activities of contracted Manufacturer’s Representatives within the territory. The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge of motor control and power electronics with proven consultative selling skills and a history of growing industrial accounts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Territory Strategy & Business Development
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive territory sales plan to grow the company product sales and market share within the assigned region, in alignment with company revenue targets and strategic objectives.
  • Identify, prioritize, and pursue new customer opportunities including electrical distributors, system integrators, engineering firms, and key accounts across key industries served by the company’s products.
  • Conduct regular account planning reviews; analyze territory performance, pipeline health, and market trends to identify gaps and opportunities for growth.
  • Manage and coordinate the selling activities of contracted Manufacturer’s Representatives within the territory; provide direction, training, product support, and joint customer calls to maximize rep effectiveness.
  • Administer and maintain distributor and channel partner agreements; ensure alignment with the company’s channel programs, pricing policies, and strategic initiatives.

  • Serve as the primary The company field contact for assigned accounts — building trusted relationships with key decision‑makers including engineers, operations managers, procurement personnel, and executive sponsors.
  • Conduct on‑site customer visits, product demonstrations, lunch‑and‑learns, and technical presentations to educate customers and drive product specifications.
  • Ensure high post‑sales satisfaction by coordinating with inside sales, application engineering, and customer service to resolve issues quickly and maintain strong long‑term account relationships.
  • Provide product training to distributor sales teams, OEM engineers, and key account personnel to build product knowledge and preference for the company solutions throughout the channel.
Technical Sales & Application Support
  • Developing and applying your knowledge of the company’s Medium Voltage and Low Voltage Soft Starter product line and Motor Protection Products. Review customer applications needs to recommend the product solution that best fits their needs and financial and physical constraints for an optimal application solution— considering motor horsepower, voltage, load type, duty cycle, environmental conditions, and system requirements.
  • Review and interpret customer specifications, one‑line diagrams, and technical documents to develop accurate and compliant proposals and quotations.
  • Provide pre‑sales application support and collaborate with inside sales engineers and the engineering team on complex or custom product requirements.
  • Stay current on competitive products, pricing, market trends, and emerging applications in the motor control, soft starter, and drive industries; to communicate competitive intelligence to sales leadership and product management.
Quoting, CRM & Reporting
  • Prepare and present commercial and technical quotations; verify all commercial and technical aspects of proposals for accuracy and completeness prior to submission.
  • Provide regular updates on activities, market or perceived trends, market responses to our products.
  • Provide accurate and timely sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and territory business updates for sales management on a regular basis.
