Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Phlebotomist I to cover the Newark, DE territory. The role involves travel to PSCs, client offices, and other sites, collecting specimens with venipuncture or capillary draws and ensuring patient identification and proper labeling.

You will provide professional patient service, perform data entry for registrations and orders, and maintain a clean collection environment. Travel up to 75% with some weekend shifts; English required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification required in CA, NV, WA, and LA.
• Travel up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen collections following established procedures, including venipuncture and capillary draws.
• Obtain patient identification and signatures to confirm specimen labeling accuracy.
• Prepare specimens for transport and testing, including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and storage as required by test order.
• Research test/client information and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders using lab systems.
• Provide professional, respectful, and efficient service to all patients and clients.
• Enter data accurately for patient registration, test orders, and billing information.
• Communicate collection procedures clearly and address patient questions.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming collection environment; manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
• Provide coverage across PSCs and Client Offices within the territory with minimal notice.
• Ensure daily office activities are completed accurately and on time; maintain travel readiness.
• Follow policies, safety protocols, and confidentiality of patient information; use lab systems for orders and documentation.
