Job summary

Goldsboro Builders Supply Family of Companies in North Carolina is seeking an energetic Outside Sales Representative who thrives on building relationships with builders, contractors, and construction professionals. You will expand market share, manage accounts, and deliver solutions from our lumber and building materials portfolio.

Your role involves prospecting, presenting products, creating quotes, negotiating, and ensuring order accuracy while traveling to active sites and customer locations.

Qualifications

• Proven success in outside sales, preferably in lumber/building materials.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to read construction plans is preferred.
• Self-motivated, results-oriented with a strong work ethic.
• Excellent organization and time management.
• Proficiency with CRM systems and office tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Generate new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, permit tracking, and market research.
• Develop and grow relationships with builders, contractors, remodelers, and construction professionals.
• Promote and sell lumber and building materials to achieve sales goals.
• Create accurate quotations, bids, and proposals.
• Negotiate and close sales while maintaining customer relationships.
• Serve as primary contact for assigned accounts and ensure timely order fulfillment.
• Educate customers on new products, technologies, and industry trends.
