Emery Jensen Distribution is a subsidiary of Ace Hardware Corporation that sells and distributes hard-line products to independent Pro/Lumber, Paint, Hardware, and E-retailer customer segments.

Our team is currently looking for a Territory Manager responsible for growing profitable sales with current and new Emery Jensen customers in the Greater NYC Metro Area.

The Territory Manager will focus on increasing sales through weekly warehouse orders, convention sales opportunities, drop-ship programs, and other promotional programs. They will analyze each retailer and develop specific sales strategies based on customer needs, while meeting Emery Jensen Distribution objectives. The role involves managing customer relationships and acting as a liaison between the customer and Emery Jensen Distribution. Attendance at industry trade shows such as The National Hardware Show, The IGC Show, and others may be required.

What You’ll Do

  1. Deliver annual sales and profit objectives by developing strategic sales plans that increase the Emery Jensen customer base within the territory.
  2. Represent Emery Jensen Distribution professionally and ethically in all activities.
  3. Develop strong business relationships with key decision makers.
  4. Organize and prioritize weekly customer sales routes and calls.
  5. Communicate successes and challenges to the Emery Jensen Leadership Team.
  6. Coordinate with internal teams to resolve customer issues promptly.
  7. Share ideas and sales successes with team members.
  8. Manage expenses related to travel and entertainment judiciously.

What You Need To Succeed

  • Motivated self-starter focused on solutions based on customer needs.
  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience preferred.
  • Hardware sales experience is a plus.
  • Excellent listening, negotiating, and communication skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to sit for long periods, stand, climb ladders, and lift at least 50 pounds.
  • BILINGUAL skills strongly preferred.
  • Residence in the Greater NYC Metro area is preferred.

Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000 annually.
