Job summary

Backyard Products, a national backyard builder since 1975, is seeking a Territory Manager to drive sales and oversee sub-contractors across the territory. This role partners with leadership to maximize profit, protect assets, and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction in both office and manufacturing settings.

Requires 2–4 years of supervision in building materials, strong customer service, and forklift operation.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with 2–4 years of supervision and construction materials experience.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and leadership ability.
  • Forklift operation skills and basic understanding of accounts payable/receivable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Management to protect company assets and resources including inventory and facilities.
  • Lead the acquisition and maintenance of a subcontractor network to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Provide feedback to team members and management.
  • Assist in auditing procedures and inventory schedules.
  • Assist with inventory activities: ordering, receiving, storing, shipping, and filing claims.
  • Support promotional merchandising plans and maintain presentation standards.

Backyard Products is a nationally based company. We’ve been America’s #1 backyard builder since 1975, providing quality sheds, play sets, studios, gazebos, and fencing. We partner with many of the largest national retailers to offer our installed products across the country.

The Territory Manager is responsible for a variety of activities that support Leadership and the Organization. This role supports daily operations and processes, diplomatic decision making, takes initiative to maximize sales and profit, and maintains the sub-contractor program with a “hands on” approach.

Key Responsibilities: (Other duties as assigned)
  • Partner with Management to protect and maintain company assets and resources to include, but not limited to, inventory, product handling and physical facility.
  • Leads the acquisition of and maintaining a strong core team of sub-contractors to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
  • Provides constructive feedback to team members and management.
  • Assists in timely completion of all auditing procedures/Inventory schedules.
  • Assists with inventory related activities including ordering, receiving, storing, shipping, repairing products, and filing claims.
  • Assist in carrying out promotional merchandising plans within the territory and maintains presentation standards as directed by the organization.
  • Promotes a safe work environment and ensures compliance with State and Federal requirements.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively both verbally and in written formats and maintains company confidentiality practices and policies.
  • Partner with HR to ensure compliance and communication is maintained, assisting with other projects and training as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED with 2-4 years of relevant employee supervision, sub- contractor supervision, and construction/building materials experience(Proficient knowledge of wood working, building products, construction)
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Proficient fork lift operation skill
  • Basic understanding of Accounts Payable / Receivable, Inventory control, and Profit & Loss
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug screen required.

Operates in a professional office environment as well as within a manufacturing environment subject to inside environmental conditions and noise. Often required to sit, use repetitive hand motion, hear, listen, talk, stand, and walk. Often required to climb stairs, reach overhead, pull, push, and lift up to 50 pounds
