Job description

Our client is seeking a Territory Jewelry Sales Manager to join their growing team. This position will cover the Western region, including Colorado, Arizona, Utah, and New Mexico, with a preference for candidates based in these states.

This is an excellent opportunity for a sales professional who thrives on extensive travel and enjoys building strong relationships with small, independent jewelers. The role requires a hands-on approach, focusing on developing new business opportunities and nurturing existing accounts within the assigned geographic territory.

THE ROLE

The Territory Jewelry Sales Manager will lead sales initiatives within their assigned region, targeting both existing and prospective customer accounts. This pivotal role involves active participation in marketing communications, product presentations, trade shows, and customer relationship management, working collaboratively with key stakeholders to meet or exceed sales goals.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales and Territory Management:
  1. Develop and implement sales strategies for both new and existing customers, aligning with seasonal and annual objectives.
  2. Consistently achieve or surpass monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  3. Actively identify and secure new customer accounts within the assigned territory.
  4. Provide ongoing product training, sales support, and marketing assistance to strengthen client relationships.
  5. Collaborate with fellow Territory Managers and the President to formulate effective strategies, utilizing the "Thru the Store" sales presentation approach.
  6. Manage the sales pipeline through the established Proven Sales Process.
  7. Oversee and manage product displays and merchandising at each customer location.
Territory Planning and Product Knowledge:
  1. Develop strategic plans for key accounts within the territory.
  2. Create comprehensive market and travel plans for each geographic region or major market.
  3. Continuously enhance product knowledge, actively learning about new products and effectively promoting them to customers.
Industry Presence:
  1. Actively contribute to sales meetings, trade shows, and presentations for key accounts (e.g., JCK, IJO, RJO).
  2. Maintain regular communication on products and the competitive landscape within each store or market.
  3. Monitor competitive activities and share insights with the sales, marketing, and product development teams.
Ideal Candidate Attributes:
  1. A proactive and driven sales professional who is comfortable with extensive travel, typically Monday through Friday.
  2. Demonstrates care, dedication, passion, and flexibility.
  3. A solution-oriented team player with strong problem-solving skills.
  4. Proficient in using technology, including iPad apps and smartphones.
  5. Creative and analytical thinker with a focus on customer needs, company growth, and profitability.
  6. Personable, with a positive attitude and the ability to confidently and respectfully ask for sales.
  7. A team player who is humble, adaptable, and collaborative.
  8. A good sense of humor and a positive, solution-oriented mindset.
  9. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  10. Preferably has experience in jewelry sales, but not required. Candidates from industries such as corporate apparel, cosmetics, and furniture, where relationship-building and persistence are key, tend to excel in this role.
  11. A self-starter who thrives in an independent, fast-paced environment.
  12. Preferably resides within the territory for ease of travel and customer engagement.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  1. 10+ years of proven success in on-the-road sales, business development, or territory management.
  2. Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  3. Bachelor’s degree is a plus but not required.
  4. Experience in the jewelry industry is beneficial but not mandatory.
WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT

Substantial travel required (75%); typically 3 out of 4 weeks per month spent visiting customers within the designated territory, attending trade shows, and industry events.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  1. Competitive base salary plus commission
  2. 401k with company match after 1 year of employment
  3. 70% company-paid medical & dental insurance
