Job summary

Centurion Plan is seeking a full-time, in-office Survey LiDAR Technician to join our Survey Department in Grapevine, Texas. The role focuses on processing, registration, QA/QC, and production of survey deliverables from LiDAR data, with emphasis on terrestrial laser scanning and integration with GNSS and traditional survey data.

The ideal candidate will have experience with large point clouds, feature extraction, and developing topographic surfaces, and will work with tools like TBC, Civil 3D,

Qualifications

• Professional experience processing LiDAR, laser scanning, or point cloud data.
• Experience with terrestrial LiDAR, survey data processing, or similar reality-capture workflows.
• Working knowledge of survey control, coordinate systems, horizontal and vertical datums, elevations, and georeferencing.
• Ability to identify registration, control, and point cloud quality issues.
• Experience working with large point cloud and survey datasets.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to survey accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Process and register terrestrial LiDAR and laser scanning datasets.
• Perform point cloud registration, alignment, cleanup, filtering, classification, and QA/QC.
• Integrate LiDAR data with survey control, GNSS, total station, and other conventional survey data.
• Extract survey features, linework, breaklines, pavement, drainage features, structures, and terrain information from point clouds.
• Develop surfaces, contours, terrain models, and other topographic survey products.
• Identify and troubleshoot registration, control, coordinate system, and data-quality issues.
• Prepare processed data for production in TBC, Civil 3D, and other survey/CAD workflows.
• Process and support mobile LiDAR datasets.
• Process and support aerial LiDAR and UAS photogrammetry datasets.
• Coordinate with survey field crews and drone personnel regarding control, coverage, and data quality.
• Manage large point cloud and survey datasets and support final survey QA/QC.
