Job summary

Centurion Planning & Design LLC seeks a full-time LiDAR & Geospatial Processing Technician to support our Survey Department. The role focuses on processing, quality control, and production of survey deliverables from aerial LiDAR, drone photogrammetry, and terrestrial scans.

The ideal candidate handles large point clouds, understands field-to-delivery workflows, and collaborates with surveyors, CAD staff, GIS, and project managers. Office-based with potential field support as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with LiDAR, photogrammetry, or geospatial data.
• Understanding of field collection and final deliverables.
• Knowledge of coordinate systems and georeferencing.
• Ability to work with large point cloud, imagery, and geospatial datasets.
• Attention to data quality and accuracy.
• Strong communication with field crews, CAD and GIS staff.

Responsibilities

• Process aerial LiDAR data from UAS.
• Process drone imagery to create point clouds and orthophotos.
• Process GNSS/INS and trajectory data for LiDAR.
• Perform LiDAR calibration, classification, filtering, and noise removal.
• Develop bare-earth models and terrain features from LiDAR.
• Register terrestrial LiDAR and laser scans.
• Georeference and combine datasets using survey control.
• Produce surfaces, contours, and topographic maps.
• QA/QC by comparing data to control and checkpoints.
• Troubleshoot discrepancies and data gaps.
• Coordinate with field teams on data quality and recollection needs.
• Prepare data for Civil 3D, TBC, ArcGIS formats.
• Manage large datasets and maintain workflow docs.
