Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology seeks a JLVC Database Technician to build, validate, and refine high-fidelity simulation databases for Army/Joint training environments. You will translate training requirements into actionable terrain and database products, ensuring accurate representations and interoperability across platforms.

The role emphasizes data validation, collaboration within a team, and the ability to operate with minimal guidance on complex simulations and exercises.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in simulation database development or modeling/simulation.
• SECRET clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI.
• AS/AA in GIS or related field or equivalent education/experience.
• Experience with JTDS or VISTA.
• Terrain generation and visualization, geospatial data formats.
• Data conversion, transformation, and validation between geospatial formats.
• Configuration and version management of terrain and database products.

Responsibilities

• Build high-fidelity simulation databases representing operational environments.
• Apply terrain/database standards and feature characterization for accurate representations.
• Translate training requirements into terrain/database products for realism.
• Create simulation databases with accurate data and entities.
• Perform data validation and troubleshooting to ensure fidelity.
• Assist with data formatting and import/export across simulation platforms.
• Refine products based on exercise feedback and evolving objectives.
