Job summary

Sugarloaf is seeking a Terrain Park Day Crew Supervisor to lead daily park operations, ensure features are safe and ride-ready, and mentor a team of Terrain Park Rangers. The role involves hands-on leadership in the field with real decision-making authority during shifts and potential summer operations for the right candidate.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2–4 years of terrain park experience with demonstrated ability to ride features safely.
  • Previous lead, supervisor, or crew leadership experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Sugarloaf terrain park standards and mountain operations.
  • Ability to make immediate safety-based decisions and lead a team in the field.
  • Valid driver's license required, with ability to operate snowmobiles, ATVs/UTVs, and other resort equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily opening inspections and confirm features, signage, and fencing are ready for guests.
  • Direct daily work assignments for Terrain Park Rangers.
  • Monitor feature conditions, guest flow, and changing risk conditions throughout the shift.
  • Close, delay, or restrict features that do not meet safety standards until maintenance is complete.
  • Serve as the responsible person for daytime terrain park operations when the Terrain Parks Manager is off duty.
  • Coordinate real-time operations with Grooming, Patrol, Lift Operations, and Snowmaking teams.
  • Complete daily terrain park reports, inspections, maintenance logs, and incident documentation.
  • Coach and train staff on safe work practices, guest service, and park standards.
  • Support scheduling, employee development, and terrain park events and programming.
