Job summary

Sugarloaf Mountain Corporation in the Kentucky/Northern United States region is seeking a Terrain Park Day Crew Supervisor to lead daily park operations, ensure ride-ready features, and mentor a team of Terrain Park Rangers on safety and guest service.

This winter-season role offers hands-on leadership, real decision-making authority, and opportunities to shape the guest experience on the hill each day; summer operations may also be available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–4 years of terrain park experience; ability to ride features confidently.
• Previous lead or supervision experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of terrain park standards and mountain operations.
• Must have a valid driver's license and ability to operate snowmobiles, ATVs/UTVs.
• Comfortable outdoors in a mountainous winter environment with extended shifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily opening inspections to ensure features, signage, and fencing are ready for guests.
• Direct daily work assignments for Terrain Park Rangers.
• Monitor feature conditions, guest flow, and risk levels during shifts.
• Close or delay features that do not meet safety standards until maintenance is complete.
• Serve as daytime operations lead when the Terrain Parks Manager is off duty.
• Coordinate real-time operations with Grooming, Patrol, Lift Ops, and Snowmaking.
• Complete daily terrain park reports, inspections, maintenance logs, and incident documentation.
• Coach staff on safe work practices, guest service, and park standards.
• Support scheduling, staff development, and terrain park events and programming.

Want to help run one of the best terrain parks on the East Coast? Sugarloaf is hiring a Terrain Park Day Crew Supervisor to lead daily park operations, keep features safe and ride-ready, and to help mentor a team of Terrain Park Rangers. This role offers hands‑on leadership in the field, real decision‑making authority during the shift, and the chance to shape the guest experience in the park every single day. Summer mountain operations work may also be available for the right candidate.

This winter season role comes with great job perks and is expected to start at an hourly wage between $21 - 26 per hour depending upon previous experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily opening inspections and confirm that features, signage, and fencing are ready for guests.


• Direct daily work assignments for Terrain Park Rangers.


• Monitor feature conditions, guest flow, and changing risk conditions throughout the shift.


• Close, delay, or restrict features that do not meet safety standards until maintenance is complete.


• Serve as the responsible person for daytime terrain park operations when the Terrain Parks Manager is off duty or off the hill.


• Coordinate real‑time operations with Grooming, Patrol, Lift Operations, and Snowmaking teams.


• Complete daily terrain park reports, inspections, maintenance logs, and incident documentation.


• Coach and train staff on safe work practices, guest service, and park standards.


• Support scheduling, employee development, and terrain park events and programming.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.


• Minimum of 2 to 4 years of terrain park experience, with demonstrated ability to ride terrain park features confidently and safely.


• Previous lead, supervisor, or crew leadership experience preferred.


• Working knowledge of Sugarloaf terrain park standards and mountain operations.


• Ability to make immediate safety‑based decisions and lead a team in the field.


• Valid driver's license required, with the ability to operate snowmobiles, ATVs/UTVs, and other resort equipment.


• Comfortable working outdoors in a mountainous winter environment, including extended shifts, variable weather, and physically demanding conditions.
