Job summary

Kinder Morgan, Inc. is seeking a Terminal Operator to accept pipeline deliveries of liquid petroleum products, store products in tanks, and deliver to customers at terminal loading racks in Richmond, VA.

The role requires operating valves and computer systems, maintaining inventory, and coordinating with drivers. Responsibilities include loading trucks, performing maintenance, and responding to call-outs or emergency situations.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under the policy.
• Basic computer skills. (Send and receive email, create and maintain records, manipulate motor controlled valves)
• Ability to manipulate motor controlled valves and perform tasks involved in receiving products, directing products to tanks, and making delivery to tank trucks.
• Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
• Ability to work under supervision and with others.
• Familiarity with basic hand tools and preventive maintenance on terminal equipment.
• Petroleum transportation, storage and distribution, electrical and/or mechanical experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Accept pipeline deliveries of liquid petroleum products and direct products to and store in proper tanks.
• Maintain inventory and other information by computer and by gauging tanks and sampling product.
• Handle and test liquid petroleum products.
• Load or assist in the loading of trucks.
• Perform or assist in preventive and regular maintenance duties.
• Coordinate product delivery with customers and truck drivers.
• Respond to call-out for troubleshooting or maintenance on facility equipment.
• Perform duties as a first responder in spill or emergency situations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
