Job summary

Buckeye Partners L.P. is seeking a Terminal Operator B to oversee the operation and maintenance of terminal, pipeline, marine, and rail assets at a field location.

You will manage receipt, storage, and inventory control of petroleum products, respond to emergencies, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The role requires 2-5+ years in terminal or related operations, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to coordinate with contractors and customer stakeholders.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-5+ years related experience in terminal, pipeline or marine operations preferred.
• General knowledge of equipment and maintenance of pumps, meters, truck loading rack, and dock facility preferred.
• General knowledge or experience in the petroleum industry is helpful.
• Inventory control and/or accounting background a plus.
• Familiarity with computerized inventory control systems and truck rack automation systems desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair the terminal loading rack, storage and all equipment; keep it in good working order and presentable.
• Manage receipt, storage, and distribution of petroleum products via pipeline, rail, and marine dock; follow product movement, measurement and quality control procedures.
• Stay knowledgeable of petroleum terminal regulations and environmental, safety, and operating procedures to ensure compliance.
• Keep management informed of regulatory, health, safety, security and environmental issues.
• Maintain relationships with terminal customers and respond to inquiries as required.
• Respond to terminal, pipeline, rail and marine emergencies; participate in annual emergency response drills.
• Develop and manage contractors at the terminal.
• Operate computer inventory control systems and participate in inventory investigations.
• Be familiar with pipeline and marine operations and assist with related duties as applicable.
• Understand loading rack equipment and assist with related tasks.
• Support Asset Team to achieve high-performance certification; may act as Asset Team point person.
• Support Buckeye terminal operations and assist in special projects as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
