Job summary

American Commercial Lines seeks a Terminal Operator in St. Louis, MO, to oversee material handling and equipment operations at our terminal. You will work with conveyors, mobile equipment, and processing areas to ensure safe, efficient throughput.

The role requires a High School diploma, industrial experience, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to work in a team with reliable attendance. Training across positions may be provided, along with PPE and compliance expectations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Prior industrial operations experience.
• Strong safety focus and compliance with site rules.
• Experience operating heavy equipment (bulldozer, conveyors, backhoe, cranes).
• Willingness to cross-train in other roles.
• Ability to work in a team and multi-task.
• Reliable with excellent attendance.
• Ability to perform physically in coal transfer environment.
• Capable of climbing heights and working in confined spaces.
• Good oral and written communication; PPE as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and tend conveyors and material transfer systems.
• Control speed and routing to meet shift goals.
• Operate mobile equipment: backhoes, bulldozers, loaders.
• Perform light cleanup and routine maintenance of equipment.
