Job summary

AMRize is seeking a Terminal Operator in Flushing, MI to safely operate equipment used to load and unload rail cars, boats and trucks. You will ensure order accuracy and expeditious processing of requests while adhering to safety policies.

Responsibilities include operating loading equipment, maintaining records, and performing basic maintenance on mobile equipment. A high school diploma and 1–3 years' experience, plus a valid driver's license, are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operates loading/unloading of material for rail, waterway and road transport.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety of grounds, warehouses and yards.
• Operates and maintains terminal equipment and mobile machinery.
• Samples product from trucks and barges per company policies.
• Maintains accurate maintenance and inventory records.
• Performs clerical duties for receipts, shipments and records.

Job description

The Terminal Operator safely operates all equipment at the location used to load and unload rail cars, boats and/or trucks, ensuring order accuracy and expeditious processing of requests.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
• Practice and promote safety in such way as including but not limited to; assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, utilizing appropriate PPE.
• Exercise and encourage core values including but not limited to; developing self and coaching others by inspiration and empowerment
• Maintain grounds, offices, warehouse, yard, etc.
• Carry out tasks related to loading/unloading material, both bulk and bagged, for rail, waterway, and road methods of transportation, as appropriate for the specific location.
• Understand and operate truck loading equipment.
• Operate and conduct general maintenance on mobile equipment and assist with general mechanical maintenance.
• Sample product from trucks and barges following company policies.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records on all terminal equipment.
• Perform clerical functions following the established guidelines for the recording of receipts, shipments and inventory records.
• Other duties as assigned.

RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER JOBS

• Terminal Operators need the ability to communicate with Terminal Managers, customers, sales personnel, trucking firms and suppliers.
