You will lead a team of dispatchers and schedulers to execute daily plans safely and efficiently. The role requires strong communication, leadership, and a solid understanding of the transportation industry, margins, and owner-operator relations.

Qualifications

• 5 Years of transportation experience.
• Computer literate with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Dependable and able to work independently.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day dispatch operations and execution of plan with dispatchers and schedulers.
• Set priorities for the dispatchers throughout the day.
• Collaborate with Safety, Driver Recruitment, Customer Service, and Sales to serve drivers and customers.
• Manage company driver cost and productivity.
• Knowledge of GWI dispatch process and dispatch as needed.
• Oversee volumes, workloads, capacity, KPIs, yards and driver needs.
• Communicate freight needs with scheduling group.
• Track company assets and coordinate with M&R and management.
• Resolve conflicts between contractors and dispatch within policies.
• Manage P&L, cost and margins to increase terminal profitability.
• Participate in implementing new Key Account/Contract business.
• Promote excellence in service to drivers and customers.
• Achieve driver retention goals and retain fleet through contractor relations.
• Promote operational excellence focused on safety and quality.
• Build, develop, coach and manage transportation team; ensure succession plan.
• Drive employee engagement to support mission, vision and values.
• Manage quarterly KPIs and personnel needs and performance.
• Ensure facility is maintained and stocked with supplies.
