Job summary

Gulf Winds International Inc. is seeking an Assistant Terminal Manager to lead the dispatch team and supervise daily operations. You will oversee scheduling, equipment utilization, and cost controls while working with the Terminal Manager to implement strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of transportation experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to work independently and reliably.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coach the dispatch team and translate TM vision into actionable items.
• Monitor team pulse, congestion, and weather to pivot focus as needed.
• Ensure daily plan execution with proactive escalation when necessary.
• Collaborate with TM to implement process changes for service improvements and cost controls.
• Review dashboards, identify issues, and follow up with dispatch to prevent missed opportunities and reduce driver frustration.
• Participate in driver retention efforts and advocate for the operation and drivers.
• Coordinate with other departments to drive dispatch and fleet process improvements.
• Oversee daily execution of dispatch to meet customer commitments and IC handling.
• Supervise drivers, manage costs, and address fleet performance.
• Set expectations and support positive team culture and engagement.
