Job summary

The Department of Statistics at the University of Virginia invites applications for a tenured faculty appointment at the level of Professor or Associate Professor. All research areas in Statistics are considered, with special interest in methods and computing across disciplines, including UVA’s Grand Challenges; see research.virginia.edu/Grand-challenges.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Statistics or Biostatistics by the start date, with a demonstrated ability to contribute to research, teaching

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Statistics or Biostatistics (or related field with evidence of extensive training in statistics) by the start date.
Strong potential to contribute to the department’s mission and engage in external funding opportunities.
Mentor junior faculty, excel in teaching and advising at all levels of students in statistics, and provide service to the department and university.

Responsibilities

Engage in high-impact statistical research and interdisciplinary collaborations.
Contribute to external funding opportunities and grant activity.
