Job summary

The University of Virginia's Department of Public Health Sciences seeks an Open Rank Professor of Biostatistics (tenure-ineligible) to advance team-based biostatistics collaborations and education. The successful candidate will mentor students and fellows, teach graduate courses, and contribute to administrative and service duties within the department.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in biostatistics or related fields, a strong publication record, and experience obtaining NIH or similar funding

Qualifications

• Ph.D in biostatistics, statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Collaborative biomedical/clinical research experience.
• Record of peer-reviewed publications in collaborative research.
• Graduate-level teaching experience.
• Experience with extramural funding from NIH or similar agencies at co-I level.

Responsibilities

• Lead biostatistical collaborations and contribute to team science.
• Teach graduate-level biostatistics courses and mentor students, residents and fellows.
• Engage in administrative and service responsibilities within the department.
• Participate in appropriate national and international organizations.
