The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing invites applications for a senior faculty position in oncology nursing science. We seek an accomplished nurse scientist with an externally funded program and a strong record of scholarship, mentorship, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The successful candidate will be appointed at the rank of tenured Professor, with exceptional candidates at the associate professor level considered for advancement.

Qualifications

• Earned research doctorate in nursing or closely related field.
• An established record of scholarship appropriate for appointment with tenure at Professor.
• A strong record of peer-reviewed, data-based publications.
• A demonstrated record of securing and successfully managing extramural research funding.
• Evidence of successful mentoring of students, junior faculty, postdoctoral scholars, and other researchers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and advance a nationally recognized, externally funded program of research focused on oncology nursing science.
• Pursue and sustain competitive extramural research funding from federal agencies, foundations, and other sponsors.
• Produce high-impact scholarship and contribute to the advancement of oncology nursing science.
• Develop interdisciplinary collaborations within the School of Nursing and across UT Austin and the broader healthcare and research community.
• Mentor junior faculty, postdoctoral scholars, doctoral students, and other emerging nurse scientists.
• Teach and advise graduate and/or undergraduate students consistent with the needs of the School and the candidate's expertise.
• Provide leadership and service to the School of Nursing, the University, the community, and the profession.

• Research that complements and expands existing strengths within the School of Nursing and University.
• Eligibility for RN licensure in the State of Texas.
