Kennesaw State University invites applications for a full-time, tenured Associate Professor or Professor of Music and Associate Director of the Dr. Bobbie Bailey School of Music, starting August 2027.

The nine-month position will be based in Georgia, with responsibilities spanning leadership, teaching, and strategic initiatives. The candidate should have a terminal degree in Music, a record of teaching excellence, and demonstrated leadership in higher education.

Qualifications

• Evidence of national or international recognition as a performer, scholar, pedagogue, or leader in music.
• Proven record of excellence in university teaching with impact on student development.
• Leadership experience in higher education, including governance or program administration.

Responsabilités

• Assist the Director in implementing strategic initiatives to enhance reputation and impact regionally and nationally.
• Provide leadership in assessment, accreditation, faculty support, and student success.
• Coordinate recruitment, outreach, and community engagement to attract top students.
• Mentor faculty, support teaching effectiveness, scholarship, and tenure processes.
• Collaborate on budget management to advance strategic goals for the BSOM.
• Represent the School of Music at university and professional events as needed.
• Assign teaching and oversee scholarly and creative activity per program needs and expertise.
