University of Missouri School of Music invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor of Violin. This is a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure track appointment to start in August 2027.

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate violin, lead weekly studio classes, coach chamber music, supervise recitals, and teach string methods for music education majors, plus related courses in string performance and pedagogy.

Competenze

• Earned Master’s degree in Violin Performance.
• Evidence of effective teaching and performing.
• Earned Doctorate in Violin Performance or equivalent professional experience.
• Evidence of success in teaching, recruiting, and retaining high-level undergraduate and graduate violin students.

Mansioni

• Teach undergraduate and graduate applied violin, including weekly studio class.
• Coach chamber music and supervise undergraduate and graduate recitals.
• Teach string methods for undergraduate music education majors and related courses in string performance, repertory, and pedagogy.
• Participate in recruitment, auditions, juries, and outreach; engage in department, university, and professional service.
