Qualifications

• One or more graduate degrees in music or equivalent professional experience.
• Established record as an artist and teacher capable of preparing students for the contemporary musical landscape.
• Ability to recruit and mentor students with diverse career goals.
• Commitment to collaborative music making in various contexts.
• Strong verbal, written, and digital communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Proactively recruit and maintain an outstanding trombone studio serving diverse undergraduate and graduate students.
• Teach applied trombone lessons, conduct studio, coach chamber ensembles, and prepare students for careers.
• Develop and teach workshops in secondary areas such as community engagement or technology.
• Maintain an active professional performance career to enrich the program.
• Advise students on academics and career goals.
• Contribute to faculty governance and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
