Job summary

The College of Music at the University of Colorado Boulder seeks an accomplished horn teacher and performer for a full-time tenure-track/tenured faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor beginning August 12, 2027. The role includes teaching applied horn and chamber music, and leading recruitment efforts in brass.

We seek candidates with a proven performing career and collegiate teaching experience, plus a master’s degree in Horn Performance (doctorate preferred).

Qualifications

• Experience as a teacher at the collegiate level.
• An established record of excellence as a performing artist.
• An earned master’s degree in Horn Performance or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach applied horn, weekly studio class, coach chamber music in brass area.
• Participate in regional, national, and international recruitment.
• Maintain an active creative career and supervise graduate theses and projects.
• Advise students and undertake College/University service activities.
