Marist University in New York invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Studio Art. The successful candidate will teach a wide range of studio courses and contribute to a collaborative academic environment.

The ideal candidate will have an MFA, at least three years of undergraduate teaching, and a strong portfolio. The department values inclusion, student success, and cross-disciplinary partnerships across the arts and humanities.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree (MFA) in Studio Art.
• At least three years teaching experience in Studio Art at the undergraduate level.
• A professional portfolio demonstrating a high level of artistic achievement and proficiency in the candidate's area of specialization.

Responsibilities

• Teach a 3-4 course load of 100 - 400 level Studio courses (Fundamentals of Art and Design, Drawing, Painting and 3D design).
• Promote innovation with technology in the Maker Lab and encourage experimentation in creating artwork using any number of traditional and newer processes.
• Conduct research and/or creative work in the candidate's area of expertise.
• Engage in academic advising, assessment, and service to the institution and to the candidate's academic discipline/profession.
• Supervise student groups.
• Faculty will be encouraged to teach First Year Seminar Courses.
