Job summary

Washington State University invites applications for a tenure-track, full-time 9-month Assistant Professor position in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) in Pullman, WA. The successful candidate will develop an independent, externally funded research program leveraging CMEC facilities to advance structural engineering and mechanics.

Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and mentoring graduate students are expected.

Qualifications

• PhD in Civil Engineering or closely related field by the time of hire.
• Demonstrated publication record in top-tier venues.
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness and instructional ability.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate civil engineering courses.
• Develop an independent externally funded research program.
• Recruit, advise and mentor MS/PhD students.
• Publish research in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
• Collaborate with CMEC and department colleagues to advance water, materials, and structural engineering goals.
