Job summary

West Virginia University invites applications for a Teaching Assistant Professor in the Wadsworth Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. This is a nine-month, non-tenure track position with about 80% teaching and 20% service responsibilities.

The successful candidate will teach Environmental Engineering courses (approximately 7–8 sections per academic year), participate on faculty committees, and engage in outreach and recruitment efforts to support student success.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering or closely related discipline at appointment.
• At least 1 year teaching undergraduate environmental engineering courses.
• Expertise in hands-on lab support and solving real-world problems.
• Active research and publications encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Teach Environmental Engineering courses (approximately 7–8 sections per academic year).
• Serve on faculty committees and liaise with other WVU units.
• Participate in retention, recruitment and outreach activities.
