Job summary

We expect a Doctoral degree in Statistics, Data Science, or a closely related field, a strong research agenda, and effective teaching experience at multiple levels.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Statistics, Data Science or closely related field completed by July 2027.
• Applicants should demonstrate awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a socially and economically diverse student population as might have been gained in cross‑cultural study, training, teaching, and other comparable experience.
• A record of ongoing research and a well‑developed agenda for future research.
• Experience or demonstrated potential for effective teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level.

Responsibilities

• Teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate statistics, data science, or mathematics courses and maintain a program of scholarly activity.
• Supervise graduate students in the department's MS Statistics program and the College of Science’s MS Data Science program.
• Supervise student teams working on industrial research projects in CAMCOS.
• Participate in shared governance through department, college, and university committees.
• Maintain a focused and impactful research agenda with peer‑reviewed publications.
• Organize all classes within the Canvas LMS.
• Demonstrate inclusivity in course materials and advisement for a diverse student body.
