Job summary

The University of St. Thomas (St. Paul, MN) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Psychology as a Generalist beginning Fall 2027. We seek a collaborative teacher-scholar dedicated to inclusive, engaging pedagogy and mentoring undergraduate researchers in a liberal arts setting.

The teaching load includes 5–6 courses annually with flexible delivery. Responsibilities also include student advising, scholarly activity, and service to the department and university.

Qualifications

• PhD in Psychology or related field (U.S. or foreign equivalent) or ABD nearing completion.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching and strong potential for productive research.
• Ability to teach Research Methods in Psychology or History of Psychology in Social Context.
• Experience engaging students from diverse backgrounds through inclusive teaching practices.
• Prepared to mentor undergraduate researchers and develop an inclusive program.

Responsibilities

• Teach 5–6 courses per academic year, with flexible delivery (in-person, online, hybrid).
• Teach Research Methods in Psychology or History of Psychology in Social Context.
• Other courses aligned with expertise and department needs.
• Advise students and mentor undergraduate research, maintain an active scholarship agenda, provide service to department/university.
