Job summary

The College of Staten Island invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Electrical Engineering, starting August 25, 2027. Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent.
• Ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
• Preferred qualifications include: Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Demonstrated research interests in power engineering and renewable energy systems.
• Postdoctoral or relevant industry experience in power engineering and renewable energy systems.
• The candidate should be able to demonstrate an ability to successfully teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, have an established scholarship record, and have a willingness (and/or successful record) to apply for external funding/grants.
• Good leadership skills to strengthen our ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering program.
• Knowledge and/or willingness to learn and apply elements and tools of Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning in research area and/ or teaching is strongly encouraged.
• Possess the credentials for appointment to the CUNY Graduate School Faculty of Electrical Engineering at CCNY.

Responsibilities

• The successful candidate is expected to share responsibilities for advising students, serving on college committees, and handling departmental assignments (which include administrative, supervisory, and other functions).
