Job summary

University of Oklahoma Norman Campus, Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences, School of Library and Information Studies invites applications for a full-time tenured/tenure track faculty position in Human Information Behavior. This 9-month appointment begins August 16, 2027, in Norman, Oklahoma, not remote.

The candidate should have a research agenda, teaching ability across undergrad, masters, and/or doctoral levels, and a track record in user-centered design, system design, and user studies.

Qualifications

• Earned Ph.D. or equivalent in LIS or related discipline with a specialization in Human Information Behavior.
• ABD status acceptable at time of application, but Ph.D. in-hand by August 2027 is expected.
• Demonstrated teaching experience and research ability.

Responsibilities

• Instruction including course development and mentoring graduate students.
• Research and publication at a level appropriate for a Carnegie R1 university.
• Departmental and college service, SLIS committees, and university-wide service.
• Engage in multi-disciplinary collaborations and grant projects.
