Job summary

Prairie View A&M University invites applications for the nine-month tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position in Plant and Soil Sciences. The successful candidate will develop an externally funded research program addressing agricultural productivity, environmental resilience, and food security in Texas and beyond.

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, advising students, recruiting into programs, and publishing results. Candidates must hold a Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Plant & Soil Sciences or closely related field.
• 1–2 years of teaching experience at undergrad and grad levels.
• Proficiency in written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Plant & Soil Sciences and related programs.
• Advise undergraduate and graduate students and collaborate with student organizations.
• Assist recruitment into undergraduate agriculture and graduate programs.
• Apply current technologies to research soil fertility and nutrient management.
• Publish results in refereed journals.
• Seek externally funded grants and contracts for research.
• Engage in service activities with colleagues and professional organizations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
