Job summary
Prairie View A&M University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Biology starting Fall 2026. The ideal candidate will teach introductory biology courses to biology majors, including concepts in molecular and cellular biology, genetics, and evolution, with emphasis on General Biology, Microbiology, or Environmental Biology to upper-level students.
The salary is commensurate with experience. Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Biological Sciences or related field required.
- Minimum two years of undergraduate General Biology teaching experience.
- Experience designing online courses preferred.
- Experience developing virtual summer bridge programs preferred.
Responsibilities
- Teach General Biology I and II lecture and laboratory courses for biology majors.
- Advise students on degree requirements for pre-professional programs.
- Mentor and supervise students through undergraduate research and activities.
- Serve on committees and participate in assessment projects.
