Job summary

Xavier University of Louisiana invites applications for two full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in the Division of Basic Pharmaceutical Sciences, College of Pharmacy, beginning August 2027. The successful candidates will teach Pharm.D., mentor students, and engage in scholarly activities to advance the University’s research mission.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Pharmacology or closely related discipline.
• Postdoctoral research experience and/or college-level teaching experience.
• Demonstrated record of research productivity evidenced by peer-reviewed publications.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.

Responsibilities

• Teach, mentor, and advise Pharm.D., MS, and other health sciences students.
• Contribute to the growth and expansion of Xavier University’s biomedical research enterprise.
• Develop and sustain an externally funded research program with publications and grants.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external partners on interdisciplinary initiatives.
• Participate in service activities that support the division, college, and university.
• Engage in student mentoring, academic advising, and professional development.
• Participate in division, college, and university meetings and events.
• Support Xavier University's mission and strategic priorities.
