Job summary

Grand Valley State University’s MPAS program in Grand Rapids invites applications for a full-time, tenure-stream Assistant Professor position. The successful candidate will teach, conduct scholarship, and contribute to service within the PAS program and university community.

Qualifications

• Be NCCPA-certified with a master's degree (PA focus) or a board-certified physician, or have a doctoral degree in a health-related field.
• Eligible for Michigan license; 3 years of clinical experience if PA/MD criteria apply.
• Demonstrate leadership, collaboration, and digital literacy in an academic setting.
• Commitment to the mission of the university, college, and Department/Program.

Responsibilities

• Assist with PAS curriculum design, implementation, coordination, and evaluation.
• Develop and revise instructional materials, including lectures and online modules.
• Serve as course coordinator and provide lectures and labs to students.
• Supervise and instruct students in didactic and clinical years; evaluate performance.
• Assist with clinical site visits and monitor student progress.
• Participate in academic advising to ensure student progression in PAS competencies.
• Ensure availability of remedial instruction when needed.
• Assist with admissions, recruitment, and program evaluation; support department administration.
• Promote collaboration with local clinicians to develop training sites and preceptors.
